Running a Report

Report Structure
A report can be structured with the following sections:
Report Header
:- This section will display the name of the report and the parameters the report was run for. It will be repeated on each page when the report is printed.
Group Header
:- This section is printed at the beginning of each new group of records. The group header is used to print the group name. For example, in a report that is grouped by member, the name of the Member will appear in this section. Note.There may be multiple Group Headers in a report, as per this example, which are grouped by Member and then by Submission Type.
Detail
:- This section is printed once for each row of data.
Group Footer
:- This section is printed at the end of each group of records. A group footer is used to print summary information for a group e.g. Total Number of Submissions, Total Amount Paid etc. Note. There may be multiple Group Footers in a report, as per this exmaple example, which are grouped by Member and then by Submission Type
Report Footer
:- This section is printed once, at the end of the report. The report footer is used to print report totals or other summary information for the entire report.
Defining the Parameters of a Report
When each report is selected from the menu a list of parameters will be displayed that need to be completed in order to run the report.
An example of the Parameters required for the Statistical Report is displayed below.
Step 1.
Enter values for each parameter that is presented. Any parameter that has a red * next to it, must have a value entered for this parameter.
Step 2.
Click on the Generate Report button.
Print Preview Reports
Print Preview in Internet Explorer
Step 1.
Click on the dropdown arrow next to the printer icon
Step 2
.Select Print Preview from the dropdown menu
The report will then be displayed in Print Preview mode. You can use the controls at the top and bottom of the page to move between pages, scale the report, set orientation and print.
Step 3
.Click on the red X to close the print preview and return to the report view.
Print Preview in Firefox
Step 1
.Click on the Firefox dropdown menu button in the top left hand corner.
Step 2
.From the dropdown menu hover your mouse over print and then select Print Preview from the side menu.
The report will then be displayed in Print Preview mode. You can use the controls at the top of the page to move between pages, scale the report, set orientation and print.
Step 3
.Click on the close button to return back to the report view.
Print Preview in Chrome
Step 1.
Click on the spanner icon in the top right hand corner or click on the Print button
Step 2.
From the dropdown menu select Print
The report will then be displayed in Print Preview mode along with the controls to print the report.
Step 3
.Click on the X in the top right hand corner of the preview to close the Print Preview
Print Preview in Safari
Step 1
.If on a PC Press Alt + F key to display the menu
Step 2
.From the File Menu choose Print Preview.
The report will then be displayed in Print Preview mode. You can use the controls at the top of the page to move between pages, scale the report, set orientation and print.
Or
If you are using a Mac press Command+P to display the print options
Step 3
.Click on the red X to close the print preview.
Printing the Report
Step 1
.Click on the Print button
The printer dialog box will be displayed where you can:-
• Select the printer that you wish to print to and review its properties
• Pages Required
• Number of Copies
NOTE:- If you wish to preview the report first you can use a PDF Printer Driver to generate a PDF copy of the report.
